McLane Advanced Technologies and McLane Logistics Technology: Warehouse Management System Pioneers
Since the advent of the Warehouse Management System — the McLane name has been at the forefront of innovation. McLane Advanced Technologies and McLane Logistics Technology, both part of the McLane Group, were founded on the experience and knowledge of over a century in the distribution industry. Our founder, Drayton McLane, grew a small, grocery business into what is now one of the largest foodservice distributors in the world — McLane Company.
Our Warehouse Management System was integrated into Walmart’s supply chain
The methodology and approach used to streamline the large-scale supply chain operations of McLane Company were acquired by Walmart in the early 1990’s. Walmart utilized the processes and technologies in place at McLane Company to expand its grocery distribution operations into what it is today.
This intellectual property around distribution also caught the eye of Microsoft – which is why McLane partnered with Microsoft to develop the best-of-breed warehouse management system — Warehouse 3g — embedded in Microsoft Dynamics® AX.
McLane Logistics Technology
McLane Logistics Technology was formed in 2011 to assists customers by developing world-class supply chain applications and sharing our best business practices in distribution operations. As part of the McLane Group, McLane Logistics Technology offers solutions that create value for distributors — improving their business and helping them provide better customer service.
We are here to teach distributors how to best utilize technology to optimize their supply chains. We have experienced the issues and complications that can arise on a daily basis...and we know how to resolve them.
Warehouse management is just the beginning of our long-term strategy of proactively developing end-to-end supply chain management technology into the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system. We plan to take every bit of our supply chain intellectual property and put it into Microsoft Dynamics AX in order to provide distributors with a complete supply chain management and ERP solution that will be more robust than anything else in the Microsoft Partner community.
